On August 31, the opening ceremony of the GigaBattery Boxberg 400 large-scale energy storage project in Saxony, Germany, was held. The project, with a scale of 400 MW/1600 MWh, is an important part of the LEAG "GigawattFactory"'s integrated renewable energy base.
Haibo Sichuang will provide full-process delivery services covering energy storage system supply, equipment integration and power plant construction for the project. After the completion of the project, it will provide stable and flexible power support for the development of renewable energy in Germany and become one of the leading battery energy storage facilities in Europe.
The GigaBattery Boxberg 400 project is located on a six-hectare land that has undergone environmental remediation and treatment in the original No.2 plant area of Boxberg Power Plant (Boxberg Power Plant) in Saxony, Germany, with a grid access power of 400 MW. The energy storage capacity is 1600MWh, which is a 4-hour energy storage project. After the completion of the
project, it can theoretically meet the electricity demand of about 640,000 households for four consecutive hours. The project will enhance the flexible regulation and efficient utilization of renewable energy such as wind power and photovoltaic power through energy storage technology , and provide important support for ensuring the stable operation of the power grid.
