Holcim has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Alkern, a leading French manufacturer of precast concrete. Alkern, which focuses on the production of precast concrete components in the sustainable construction sector, expects net sales of approximately 250 million euros in 2025. The company also provides a full range of construction solutions from infrastructure, industry to civil construction.
The acquisition has significant value growth potential and is expected to deliver annualized EBITDA synergies of €11 million in the third year and will lift earnings per share (EPS) in the first year and return on invested capital (ROIC) in the third year. The acquisition will further advance Holcim's "NextGen Growth 2030" strategic goal of having the building solutions business account for 50% of Holcim Group's net sales by 2030. Founded in 1972
, Alkern has approximately 1,000 employees and more than 50 production sites in France and Belgium. Its product line includes wall, floor and water management systems, which can be widely used in various building scenarios and are highly complementary to Holcim's portfolio of building solutions. Through this transaction, Holcim will strengthen its presence in the high-value building solutions market in France and Western Europe. Dragan Maksimovic, regional head
of Holcim Western Europe, said that Alkern's leading position in the field of precast concrete in France, as well as its designable wall, floor and water management systems, are highly complementary to Holcim's product portfolio and will help Holcim further expand its high-value building solutions business.
