in 2026, on the morning of April 28, the capping ceremony of the preheater tower of the Holcim Belgium Go4Zero project of Sinoma Construction was solemnly held at the construction site in Mons, Belgium. Chinese Ambassador to Belgium Fei Shengchao, Commercial Counsellor Xie Yajing and First Secretary Zhang Feng were invited to witness the important milestone of project construction with the owner's team, and extended festive greetings to the workers of Sinoma Construction who are fighting overseas.
The ceremony began at about 10 A. M. local time. Li Jianmin, Director and Project Director of China Material Construction Company, first introduced Ambassador Fei Shengchao, Counsellor Xie Yajing of the Business Department, Secretary Zhang Feng, Ms. Claudia, CEO of Holcim Belgium, and other guests invited to attend the ceremony, as well as Mr. Vincent, Mr. Ramiro and Mr. He Minghui, the main members of the owner's on-site management team. On behalf of Sinoma Construction, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the guests and express my heartfelt thanks to the Embassy and the owner for their support and assistance.
Subsequently, Ms. Claudia, the owner, delivered a speech. She congratulated the project on its phased achievements, expressed her heartfelt thanks to all the team members involved in the construction, and spoke highly of the solid cooperative relationship between Sinoma Construction and Holcim Group for a long time. She pointed out that the Go4Zero project is a benchmark project for Holcim to build a zero-carbon cement plant in Europe, carrying the future development of Holcim Group in zero-carbon cement. She is confident that she will continue to deepen cooperation with Sinoma Construction in the future and jointly promote green development. She also hopes that the project construction will continue under the premise of ensuring safety. Achieve the ignition target of the project on schedule.
Amid warm applause, Ambassador Fei Shengchao delivered an ebullient speech. He said that he was honored to be invited to attend the tower capping ceremony and extended "May Day" greetings to the Chinese employees who worked hard in the front line of the project construction. Finally, the site started the "last crane" hoisting operation of the preheater tower. With the slow lifting of the tower crane, fireworks blossomed and firecrackers sounded on the site. After the last hanging was successfully put in place, Ambassador Fei Shengchao and his delegation took a group photo with the owner's representative and the construction team of Sinoma Construction Site to record this glorious moment for the workers. After the
ceremony, accompanied by the project management team, Ambassador Fei Shengchao and his delegation visited other areas under construction, and introduced in detail the advanced technical characteristics and main process flows of the production line, and the front-end construction contents of the CCUS system of the project. It fully demonstrates the technological innovation path of Go4zero project in green and low carbon. The successful capping of
the preheater tower not only marks a new stage in the construction of the Go4Zero project, but also is a great gift to the "May 1" International Labor Day from both teams, vividly interpreting the era connotation of labor creating value and practical achievements. It highlights the firm steps taken by Chinese and European enterprises to jointly promote green transformation and sustainable development.
