On April 24, "The Second Member Meeting of the Eighth Session of Hubei Cement Industry Association and the Annual Meeting of Cement Enterprises of the Province" was held in Xiangyang City. Gui Tongsheng, Chairman of
Hubei Cement Industry Association, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Gezhouba Group Cement Co., Ltd., pointed out that the current development of the industry is still facing many difficulties and challenges, which are mainly reflected in the following aspects: First, the pressure on the demand side is still large, the impact of the deep adjustment of real estate continues, and the demand for infrastructure construction is supported. However, it is difficult to fully make up for the gap of real estate decline; secondly, the contradiction of overcapacity has not been fundamentally solved, the problem of structural overcapacity is prominent, and it is facing the impact of new supply brought by the phosphogypsum acid production project; thirdly, the involution competition continues to intensify, the industry consensus is insufficient, the resultant force is insufficient, the healthy ecology of the industry is damaged, and the pressure of enterprise operation is intensified.
Gui Tongsheng said that the cement industry is experiencing a structural change in the deep transformation of supply-demand relationship, the fundamental change of competition logic, and the acceleration of industry concentration. Whether cement enterprises can cross the cycle, resolve contradictions and get out of the predicament depends on the determination and choice of all colleagues in the cement industry. He demanded that in 2026 and during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the cement industry in Hubei must resolutely implement the three strategies of "stabilizing the market, reducing the stock and promoting the transformation". At the same time, we should further strengthen the role of the association as a bridge and link, adhere to the leadership of Party building, be a good staff assistant, strengthen self-discipline guidance, do a good job in enterprise services, and build the association into a "warm home" and "strong backing" trusted by enterprises.
