On April 20, Chen Hongliang, president of Huayou Cobalt Industry, said at the performance presentation meeting in 2025 and the first quarter of 2026 that at present, enterprises distributing lithium resources in Zimbabwe have received relevant approvals for the export of lithium concentrates, which are all in the process. After the export procedures are complete, the domestic cycle will take about 3 months.
Earlier, on February 25, Zimbabwe, the world's fourth largest lithium producer, changed its export policy, announcing an immediate suspension of all raw ore and lithium concentrate exports. In the future, only enterprises with valid mining rights and approved concentrators will be qualified for export, and agents and third-party traders will be prohibited from exporting. Violators will have their export licenses and even mining rights revoked.
