On July 28, the National Development and Reform Commission reported that the proposal for the new Wenshan-Jingxi Railway Project was officially approved. The total length of the line is 281.2 kilometers, with a total investment of 32.158 billion yuan. The project construction is of great significance to speed up the railway construction along the southwest border, improve the layout of the regional road network, promote the security and stability of the southwest border, national unity, and support the economic and social development of the old revolutionary areas of the left and right rivers and ethnic areas.
In July, the National Development and Reform Commission approved three railway projects with a total investment of nearly 95 billion yuan. In addition to the above-mentioned new Wenshan-Jingxi Railway Project, it also includes the new Qianjiang-Jishou Railway and the new Dacun-Zunyi Railway.
The newly-built Qianjiang-Jishou Railway has a total length of 222 kilometers and a total investment of 43.36 billion yuan. The project construction is of great significance to strengthen the transport capacity of regional high-speed rail corridors, further enhance the level of convenient railway links between Chengdu-Chongqing region and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, serve the people of old revolutionary areas and ethnic minority areas, and promote regional economic and social development.
The newly-built railway from Dacun to Zunyi is 139.85 kilometers long, with a total investment of 19.084 billion yuan. The project construction is of great significance to serve the construction of new land-sea corridors in the west, improve the regional road network, reduce logistics costs, and promote regional economic and social development.
