Siam Cement Group Public Company (SCG) announced that sales revenue in Cambodia for the first half of the year was US $226 million, an increase of 11% over the first half, mainly due to higher cement sales.
With the help of the company's recently launched In-House Solutions program, SCG raised $116 million in the second quarter of 2009 to design and provide materials specification services for residential and commercial buildings.
At present, the construction industry in Cambodia is booming. In the first half of 1919, the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction approved 2,047 construction projects worth $3.39 billion. "Demand for building materials is on the rise, especially in Sihanoukville," said Chiv Sivpheng, general manager of the
Cambodian Builders Association.
