Cement demand is estimated to exceed 1.3 million tons! Railway projects with a total investment of nearly 20 billion yuan are coming

China Cement Network Project Link shows that the related projects of the new Nanchong-Guang'an Railway Project are being tendered. The total investment of the railway project is 19.715 billion yuan, which is expected to bring 1.3476 million tons of cement demand, 134,700 tons of steel demand, 2.9479 million cubic meters of concrete demand and 12.1286 million tons of sand and gravel demand. The

project starts from Nanchong North Station, passes through Shunqing District and Gaoping District of Nanchong City, Yuechi County, Guang'an District and Huaying City of Guang'an City, and ends at Guang'an East Station of Xiyu high-speed rail under construction. The total length of the main line is about 94.8 kilometers, of which the newly built main line is about 85.3 kilometers, with a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour, which is a double-track high-speed railway. Nanchong North, Gaoping, Yuechi, Guang'an South and Guang'an East, of which Gaoping Station is a new station.

In terms of investment and construction scale, the total investment of the project is estimated to be 19.715 billion yuan, which is jointly funded by Shudao Investment Group Co., Ltd. and Nanchong and Guang'an, with a total construction period of 4 years. The geological conditions along the project are complex, and the proportion of bridges and tunnels is relatively high, among which Guang'an Qujiang Bridge (main span 400 meters) and Jinbaoshan Tunnel with a total length of 5834 meters are the key and difficult control projects of the whole line.

At present, the project has made substantial progress in construction. In September 2025, the project construction was officially launched; in March 2026, the key control project of Nanchong section, Jinbaoshan Tunnel, took the lead in breaking ground and starting construction, marking that the whole line officially entered the substantive construction stage. It is expected that the project will be fully completed and opened to traffic in 2030, when the travel time from Nanchong to Guang'an will be greatly reduced to 20 minutes, and only 70 minutes from Guang'an to Chengdu, which will completely break the traffic bottleneck in Northeast Sichuan and help the cities along the line deeply integrate into the "one-hour commuting circle" of Chengdu and Chongqing.
