Recently, some bidding sections of Bengbu section of Huaiyuan-Fengtai Expressway have entered the stage of public announcement of winning bids. China Cement Net Project Link shows that the investment amount of the project is 7.325 billion yuan, which is expected to drive the demand for 745300 tons of cement, 1.168 million cubic meters of concrete and 3.7274 million tons of sand and gravel. Bengbu Section
of Huaiyuan-Fengtai Expressway (S63) is a new important connecting line in the expressway network planning of Anhui Province, and is also the first expressway project wholly owned by the Municipal Trading and Investment Group in Bengbu City. The implementation of this project is of great significance to improve the network layout of expressways in northern Anhui and along the Huaihe River and to speed up the construction of the Huaihe River Eco-economic Zone.
The project starts from the northwest side of Junwang Service Area of G3 Beijing-Taiwan Expressway in Chenji Town, Huaiyuan County, runs from north to south, passes through the west side of Bengbu Civil Airport, crosses Beifei River, Guohe River, Qiuhe River and Cihuai New River, ends at the boundary between Bengbu and Huainan City in Huangwei Village, Tangji Town, and connects with Huainan Section of Huaiyuan-Fengtai Expressway. The total length of the route is about 55.48 kilometers, with a total investment of about 8.166 billion yuan. The whole line is constructed according to the standard of two-way four-lane expressway, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour, a roadbed width of 27 meters, and an asphalt concrete pavement. The supporting facilities along the line of
the project are complete. There are 6 super major bridges and 11 major bridges along the main line. There are 7 interchanges (including 1 reserved) such as Junwang, Bengbu Airport and Fuannan. At the same time, there are 3 ramp toll stations, 1 service area, 1 maintenance work area and 1 management sub-center.
At present, the project has made substantial progress in construction. In December 2025, the feasibility study report of the project was approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission. On February 13, 2026, the construction of the first construction section (TJ-03) was officially started, marking that this important traffic corridor in northern Anhui has entered the substantive construction stage. The overall construction period of the project is about 3 years, which will effectively improve the traffic efficiency of the regional road network and help the overall revitalization of northern Anhui.
