(1) Development of
global polysilicon industry in 2025 By the end of 2025, the total capacity of polysilicon built in the world is about 3.65 million tons per year . Year-on-year increase of 7.5%. The global output of polysilicon is about 1.485 million tons, a decrease of 24.1% compared with the same period last year, including about 55,000 tons of electronic grade polysilicon, about 1.161 million tons of solar grade bulk silicon and about 269,000 tons of granular silicon . They accounted for 3.7%, 78.2% and 18.1% of the total global polysilicon production, respectively .

In 2025, the total production capacity of the top ten polysilicon enterprises in the world reached 2.912 million tons/year, with a year-on-year increase of 5.9%. The total output of the top ten polysilicon enterprises in the world was about 1.324 million tons, representing a year-on-year decrease of 22.2% and accounting for 89.2% of the total global output. In 2025, the world's top seven polysilicon enterprises are all concentrated in China, accounting for about 82.1% of the world's total output, with a high concentration of output.
(II) Development
of China's polysilicon industry in 2025 In 2025, China's total polysilicon production capacity was 3.479 million tons/year , an increase of 7.7% over the same period last year . Affected by the oversupply of polysilicon market, 16 enterprises in production produced about 1.367 million tons of polysilicon in the whole year, down 25.0% from the same period last year . The average operating rate is 39.3% , and China's polysilicon production accounts for about 92.1% of the world's total, ranking first in the world in terms of production capacity and output for 15 consecutive years.

imports, China's imports of solar-grade polysilicon in 2025 will be about 322 million US dollars. Down 55.34% year on year. Over the past decade, China's polysilicon imports have dropped from 136,000 tons to 16,100 tons, and the proportion of imports in domestic demand has also dropped sharply from 41.2% to 1.2%, and import dependence has continued to decline significantly. Domestic products have formed absolute competitive advantages in terms of cost, quality and supply stability, and imported polysilicon has changed from a "necessity" in the industrial chain to a "supplement" that only meets a very small range of special needs.
It is worth noting that in 2025, overseas solar grade polysilicon production capacity began to be laid out and constructed. United Solar , headquartered in Oman, launched the construction of the first large-scale polysilicon project in the Middle East in 2025, with a designed annual capacity of 100,000 tons, making it the largest single polysilicon production base outside China. In November 2025, the Moroccan government announced that it would cooperate with local enterprises to build a polysilicon project with an annual output of 30,000 tons. With the release of production capacity of overseas polysilicon projects, it will have a certain impact on China's polysilicon export and traditional supply pattern.
