Recently, China Huaneng Kubuqi "Shagehuang" Base has been approved by the Energy Bureau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for four 660000 kilowatts of supporting coal-fired power projects, marking that the base has formally entered the substantive development stage and become the first approved "Shagehuang" base project during the 15th Five-Year Plan period in China.

Recently, four 660000 kilowatt supporting coal-fired power projects of China Huaneng Kubuqi "Shagohuang" base were approved by the Energy Bureau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, marking that the base has formally entered the substantive development stage. It has become the first approved "Shago Wilderness" base project during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period in China.

It is reported that Huaneng Kubuqi Base is mainly located in the Kubuqi Desert area of Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, with a total installed capacity of about 15 million kilowatts . Among them, 8 million kilowatts of photovoltaic , 4.5 million kilowatts of wind power, 2.64 million kilowatts of supporting coal-fired power and 9 million kilowatt-hours of new energy storage are planned and constructed . The total investment is about 63.2 billion yuan .

Previously, in February 2026, the power supply scheme of the "Shagehuang" base was approved by the Energy Bureau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is expected that by the end of 2026, the supporting coal power project of the base will officially start construction.
