China Cement Network, on October 23, the Southwest Cement Price Index rose 2.38 points from the previous trading day, closing at 302.43 points, or 0.79%, about 2.7 times the increase of the national index (0.29%) on that day, leading the rise in the six regions. Central and South China, Yangtze River and East China rose by 0.48%, 0.32% and 0.28% respectively, while the six indices of Northeast China, North China, Northwest China, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Pearl River-Xijiang and Central Plains were flat. In terms of

price quotation, recently, driven by the cost underpinning and the surrounding atmosphere of pushing up, the price of cement in Yunnan has been centralized and re-priced: five brands of Shibaoshan, Gongchuang, Tongle, Diandong and Xilin in Qujing have been notified to increase by 60 yuan/ton. Yingzhou, Lancangjiang and Huaxin Fortress in Honghe Prefecture increased by RMB30/ton; the reference average price of bulk of P.O42.5 in Qujing, Honghe and Wenshan increased by 13.00%, 8.00% and 6.00% respectively, and the price index of P.O42.5 cement in Yunnan increased by 3.27% on a month-on-month basis. The Southwest Index has risen by 7.61 points since its low point on October 16.
In the short term, the high cost of raw materials still underpins the price, and Yunnan-Guizhou enterprises have a strong willingness to resume pricing; however, the southwest terminal demand is weak, the rise and fall of Sichuan and Chongqing are mixed, the implementation of this round of push up is divided, the actual transaction landing range is still to be tracked, if the demand recovery is not as expected, the upward space of the index may be narrowed.
