Recently, the list of winners of the FIDIC Project Award in 2026 was announced, and the Changtai Yangtze River Bridge, which was supplied by Shimen Company, a subsidiary of China Gezhouba Cement Company, with "Three Gorges Brand" low-heat cement, won the "Outstanding Award for Extra-large Projects". The award is selected by the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) and is an important award in the field of international engineering consulting.
Changtai Yangtze River Bridge
Changtai Yangtze River Bridge connects Changzhou and Taizhou in Jiangsu Province. It is the world's largest span cable-stayed bridge and the first river-crossing channel on the Yangtze River that integrates expressways, inter-city railways and ordinary highways. After the completion and opening of the highway part of the bridge, it further facilitated cross-strait exchanges and provided traffic support for promoting the development of cross-river integration. In the construction of the
bridge, the construction of key parts such as the bearing platform puts forward higher requirements for the temperature control and crack prevention of concrete. The "Three Gorges" low-heat cement supplied by Shimen Company has the characteristics of low hydration heat and high later strength, which helps to reduce the temperature rise in the process of mass concrete pouring, reduce the risk of temperature cracks, and provide material guarantee for the construction of key parts.
Around the construction nodes such as pile cap pouring, Shimen Company has set up a special after-sales service team to strengthen communication and coordination with the project department and laboratory, cooperate with the trial mixing and inspection of concrete mix proportion, and ensure the smooth progress of pouring construction with product supply and technical services. addition to the Changtai Yangtze River Bridge, the "Three Gorges" low-heat cement is also used in major projects such as the G3 Tongling Yangtze River Highway and Railway Bridge in Anhui Province, the Yichang Yangtze River Highway Bridge, the Xihoumen Highway and Railway Bridge on the Yongzhou Railway in Zhejiang Province, and the Libu Yangtze River Highway and Railway Bridge in Hubei Province. Provide material support for temperature control and crack prevention of mass concrete, and continue to expand the application of special cement in bridge construction.
