On October 12, a seminar on carbon reduction and steady growth of cement industry in Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan was held in Handan, Hebei Province. More than 50 leaders and representatives from building materials industry associations and key cement enterprises in Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces participated in the meeting. Shi Qiwei pointed out that cement, as an important basic raw material industry of the national economy, should implement the new development concept completely, accurately and comprehensively, firmly grasp the main line of structural reform on the supply side, strictly implement the national capacity replacem ent policy, make up for the shortcomings of capacity management, strictly abide by the bottom line of compliance production, and promote the actual capacity and record production. To standardize management and consolidate the foundation of high-quality development of the industry. The whole industry should unswervingly deepen industrial transformation and upgrading, actively cultivate new growth momentum in overseas markets, vigorously promote product differentiation, customization and brand upgrading, and solve the dilemma of homogeneous low-price competition. We should accelerate the integration and reorganization of enterprises, optimize the regional industrial layout, enhance the level of industrial intensification and scale, continue to extend the upstream and downstream industrial chain, make up for industrial weaknesses, and comprehensively enhance the industry's ability to resist risks and core competitiveness.

He fully affirmed the achievements made by the four provinces of Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan in implementing industrial policies and promoting industry self-discipline. Based on the overall situation of high-quality development of the industry, he clarified the necessity of self-rescue in the stock stage, and asked enterprises to boost confidence, keep the bottom line of operation, and curb disorderly low-price competition.
