On May 31, the first cross-provincial "thousand-mile light boat" route (Wanzhou-Zigui) in Wanzhou, Chongqing, was officially opened and operated, adding a new and efficient channel for water transport logistics in Chongqing and Hubei.

The first ship, loaded with 3800 tons of cement, arrived safely at Tuokou Wharf in the south of the Yangtze River in Wanzhou from Huaxin Wharf in Zigui County, Hubei Province, marking the successful leap of Wanzhou's "thousand-mile light boat" route network from the city to the province.
The "Qianli Light Boat" route is a brand of multimodal freight liner in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River built by Chongqing relying on the high-grade waterway in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area. The "Wanzhou-Zigui" thousand-mile canoe route is initially planned to run once a week, forming a two-way convective transport pattern. The upstream mainly transports cement from Zigui to Wanzhou, while the downstream transports coal ash from Wanzhou to Zigui. The opening of this
route has smoothed the two-way logistics channel and provided strong support for the coordinated development of industries in northeastern Chongqing and western Hubei.
