Recently, the 2026 National Symposium on Green and Low Carbon Development of Industry and Information Technology was held in Yichang, and the industrialization path of phosphogypsum acid production in Yichang attracted wide attention of the participants.
Yichang City has introduced special measures to support the landing of phosphogypsum acid production projects, supporting the industrial layout, energy consumption indicators, factor guarantee and other aspects, while actively coordinating the promotion of cement capacity replacement, and building a closed-loop industrial ecology of "resources-products-renewable resources". According to
the data, up to now, 2 phosphogypsum acid production projects have been completed in the city, with an annual phosphogypsum treatment capacity of 750,000 tons; 11 proposed projects are expected to be completed and put into production, with an annual consumption scale expected to exceed 20 million tons, and the comprehensive utilization rate of phosphogypsum will be greatly increased, opening up a new growth path for the green and low-carbon transformation of the phosphorus chemical industry.
