From September 23 to 24, the 14th China Cement Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Technology Exchange Conference and the 6th Intelligent Summit Forum were held in Zibo, Shandong Province.
At the meeting, Gao Yuzong, senior consultant of China Cement Network, shared the application of cotton and straw instead of coal-fired technology. Gao Yuzong introduced the difference between cotton straw and coal. Comparing the calorific value of cotton stalk with that of coal, the raw coal has a low calorific value of 5300 Kcal/kg, and the cotton stalk has a low calorific value of 3463 Kcal/kg; comparing the ash content of cotton stalk with that of coal, the cotton stalk has a lower ash content and produces less solid waste after combustion; comparing the volatile matter of cotton stalk with that of coal, the cotton stalk has a higher volatile matter and burns more rapidly; Compared with the harmful components of coal, cotton stalks have less harmful components and are more environmentally friendly.
Gao Yuzong said that 1.6 tons of cotton stalks = 1 ton of coal, burning 1 ton of cotton stalks can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.319 tons. Gao Yuzong believes that cotton stalks are broken and burned directly. Under the microscope, cotton stalks are porous materials. They are very flammable when the temperature and oxygen are appropriate. Cotton stalks burn quickly and can release heat accurately and steadily. It is not recommended to dispose of cotton stalks in the form of particles, which not only greatly increases the cost, but also causes uncontrollable combustion and dust problems in the production process.
