On May 14, according to foreign media reports, Gstar Solar, a Singapore-based solar manufacturer , has launched production of solar cells and modules in the Philippines .
It is understood that the project is divided into two phases , one of which has been completed. The plant currently has 1GW solar modules and 1.
In the second phase, the company expects to add 2GW module capacity at the Subic Bay plant in the Philippines.
It is worth noting that the components produced by the factory are N-type components , using 72 double-sided double-glass format. The company expects to start mass production on May 18, 2025.
Earlier, on March 28, the first batch of core equipment of Gstar Solar's Indonesian production base was officially shipped . This batch of equipment will be used to build an intelligent manufacturing base with an annual output of 3GW pulling silicon rods and 3GW silicon wafers .
It is reported that the base project was officially started on April 26, 2024, and is expected to enter the trial production stage in May 2025. The annual production capacity of crystal pulling is 3GW , and the annual production capacity of chip is 3GW .
According to the official website, Gstar Solar was established in 2019 and adopted the global strategy of "1 + N" model, that is, a headquarters in Singapore. N bases cover China, Indonesia, Laos and other places. As of 2025, Gstar Solar's total capacity in Southeast Asia is 17.
