Jiangjiakou Reservoir, as one of the 172 major water conservancy projects in the 13th Five-Year Plan, is a large (II) water conservancy project with a total storage capacity of 183 million cubic meters. After completion, it will significantly enhance the local flood control capacity, effectively reduce the peak flow of the main stream of the Qujiang River, and protect the lives and property of the people downstream. Taking into account the power generation function, the project will drive the development of 100000 mu of ecological aquaculture and tourism industry in the reservoir area, help 42500 people to increase their income steadily, and become an important engine and livelihood project to promote local high-quality development.
The project, with a total investment of 3.556 billion yuan, was officially started in November 2019. At present, the dam has been filled to 288 layers, accounting for 78.27% of the total dam height. It is expected that the pouring of the core wall will be completed in early October, and the construction of the discharge structure and the approach channel section of the spillway will proceed smoothly. It is expected that the construction of the dam will be completed in December.
