Yunnan Chuxiong signed a 1.5 billion yuan sodium battery project to build 5GWh capacity in two phases, with an estimated annual output value of 3 billion yuan, to promote the development of green energy industry.

On August 25, Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province, formally signed a contract with Ningbo Jinglan New Energy Co., Ltd. for the construction of a consumer grade sodium-ion battery industrial park with an annual output of 5G Wh. Ningbo Jinglan New Energy Co., Ltd. is responsible for the investment and construction of the

project, with a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan, and plans to build an annual production line of 5 GWh consumer sodium ion batteries in two phases. With an investment of 400 million yuan in the first phase, it is planned to build a 2GWh sodium-ion battery and Pack production line, which will be started in October this year, completed by the end of December and put into operation in June next year; With an investment of about 1.1 billion yuan in the second phase, it is planned to build a production line of 3GWh sodium-ion batteries and Pack, an annual output of 16000 tons of layered oxide materials, an annual output of 10000 tons of anode materials and an annual output of 10000 tons of electrolyte.

The project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation by August 2028. After the completion of the project, it is estimated that the annual output value will be 3 billion yuan, the tax revenue will be 50 million yuan, and 700 people will be employed.
