The formal access to the East Inner Mongolia Power Exchange Market marks the substantial commissioning of the largest independent new energy storage power station in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The

220 KV Conch Energy Storage Power Station project, with a total investment of about 1.5 billion yuan, started construction on June 28, 2025 and put into operation on November 28, 2025, creating a remarkable "Tongliao speed". It is estimated that the single maximum charge and discharge capacity of the project can reach 2 million kilowatt-hours, and the annual maximum charge and discharge capacity can reach 1.5 billion kilowatt-hours, accounting for 4% of the regional market electricity, and the maximum annual carbon dioxide emission can be reduced by about 530000 tons.

In recent years, with the rapid development of new energy, power system balance and security issues have become increasingly prominent. The completion of Conch Energy Storage Power Station will play an important role in peak shaving, valley filling, fluctuation stabilization and power supply guarantee, effectively solve the challenges brought by large-scale new energy convergence in Naiman Banner and its surrounding counties, significantly enhance the stability of regional power system, improve the utilization rate of clean energy, and promote the development of the whole region. It has made a pilot demonstration for Tongliao City to speed up the construction of an important national energy and strategic resource base and promote the construction of a new power system.
