Recently, the Portuguese Construction Industry Association (AICCOPN) data showed that as of August, the total domestic cement consumption was 2.657 million tons, down 1.6% from the same period last year. Despite the growth of the residential real estate market, cement consumption still showed a downward trend. In the second quarter of 2025, the housing market was active, with the sales volume, total transaction value and housing price index all rising; in the first seven months, the number of building permits issued and the permitted area of the housing sector increased significantly. In August, the cumulative change of new mortgage credit was 37.7% year-on-year. Public works market indicators also showed strong growth, with significant increases in tenders and contract amounts.
