The Digital New Energy DataBM. Com was informed that on November 6, the 100 MW photovoltaic sand control project in Wangshu, Wuwei, Gansu, was officially launched.

It is understood that the project is located on the edge of the Tengger Desert in Jiudun Beach, Liangzhou District, Wuwei City, Gansu Province (Jiudun Beach, Liangzhou District, Wuwei City, 5 million kilowatts of photovoltaic sand control demonstration base), with a planned new capacity of 100 MW. At the same time, a 15 MW/60 MWh energy storage system will be built.

In addition, during the construction and operation of the project, drought-resistant sand-fixing vegetation such as Hippophae rhamnoides and Haloxylon ammodendron will be planted on a large scale in the photovoltaic field, and sand-proof facilities will be built synchronously, and finally a three-dimensional ecological development system of "power generation on the board, sand fixation under the board and planting between the boards" will be constructed.

According to the tender announcement issued on September 9, the project was originally planned to start before October 30, 2025 and be completed before December 30, 2025.
