Recently, the Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Bureau of Suzhou recently organized the dynamic verification of ready-mixed concrete production enterprises in the first half of 2025. The verification covered 59 enterprises in the city, and 817 problems were found, involving enterprise qualification, test management, raw material quality control and other aspects. It is worth noting that some enterprises do not perform well in the sampling test of raw materials and solid concrete strength, and there are potential quality hazards.
This verification found that some enterprises have obvious deficiencies in quality management system, laboratory specifications, raw material control and other aspects. For example, the calibration of laboratory equipment in some enterprises is not up to standard, the records are incomplete, and there are even problems such as expired chemical reagents. There are frequent situations such as mixed storage of sand and gravel, lack of proof of origin, and insufficient image data for re-examination. Some enterprises did not carry out chloride ion content testing as required, or adjusted without the authorization of the technical director. Some enterprises'powder silos are not closed, the effect of dust removal facilities is not good, and the environmental management of the factory area is chaotic.
In the sampling of raw materials, some enterprises'gravel, machine-made sand, natural sand and other materials did not meet the standard of ordinary concrete preparation. The enterprises involved include:
unqualified gravel and mud content: 6 enterprises including Changshu Huaxin Jinlong Concrete Co., Ltd., Changshu Kangda Concrete Co., Ltd., and Jiangsu Pingecheng Jianshang Concrete Co., Ltd. Powder content
of machine-made sand Not applicable: Jinfurong (Taicang) Commercial Concrete Co., Ltd. and Zhangjiagang Jinjian Building Materials Co., Ltd. Excessive mud content in
natural sand: Suzhou Hangda Cement Products Co., Ltd.
In addition, in the physical concrete strength sampling test, the two projects sampled in Gusu District and Kunshan City were all unqualified, and the projects in Taicang City, Wuzhong District and Xiangcheng District were also unqualified, reflecting that some enterprises had serious omissions in concrete curing and quality control. During the
verification, enterprises such as East China Material Suzhou Co., Ltd. and Kunshan Jiandu New Material Co., Ltd. were praised for their quality management standards and environmental protection measures. Enterprises such as Suzhou Hangda Cement Products Co., Ltd., Jinfurong (Taicang) Commodity Concrete Co., Ltd. and Zhangjiagang Rongxiang Concrete Co., Ltd. were named and criticized for their outstanding problems, involving many irregularities such as dirty test environment, lack of management system and inadequate dust control.
Suzhou Housing and Construction Bureau requires enterprises to rectify within a time limit and trace the responsibility for projects with serious problems. At the same time, the results of dynamic verification will be linked to the credit of enterprises, and the last 10 enterprises will be given yellow cards, and two consecutive yellow cards will be given red cards. In addition, the housing construction department will strengthen the supervision of cast-in-place concrete maintenance to ensure the safety of the main structure of the project. The verification exposed the shortcomings of some ready-mixed concrete enterprises in quality control, and the industry needs to further improve the level of standardization.
