Recently, the Regulations on Eco-environmental Monitoring were promulgated and will come into effect on January 1, 2026.
The Regulations impose a fine of 20,000-200,000 yuan on enterprises and institutions for inadequate installation of environmental data monitoring facilities, non-networking of data, and failure to establish a data management system, and those who refuse to make corrections will be ordered to stop production and business. In addition, a fine of 1000000 to 1000000 yuan will be imposed for the falsification of monitoring data, and the production and business will be suspended if the circumstances are serious.
The Regulations also impose a maximum penalty of 2 million yuan on various violations committed by governments at all levels, technical service agencies, monitoring service agencies and other relevant parties, revoke qualification certificates and prohibit them from engaging in relevant busin ess for life.
