On March 13, the 14th China Cement Industry Summit and TOP100 Award Ceremony Technology Special Event sponsored by China Cement Network was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Sui Tongbo, Vice President and Professor-level Senior Engineer of Sinoma International, made the theme report of "Green Low Carbon Technology Path and Prospect of Cement Industry".
Sui Tongbo pointed out that the technical route of carbon reduction and decarbonization in the domestic cement industry mainly includes four directions:
1. Improving energy efficiency, including reducing standard coal consumption/electricity consumption and improving waste heat utilization, with a total emission reduction of ~ 5%;
2. Replace raw materials and fuels to reduce emissions. The main measures include: increase the substitution rate of raw materials and fuels, use clean energy such as photovoltaic and hydrogen energy, and reduce emissions by 20% in total;
3. New clinker and low carbon cement, the main measures include calcining clay-based composite cement, low calcium cement clinker system, clinker reduction, etc., with a total emission reduction of 20-25%;
4. Carbon capture, storage and utilization. The main measures include oxy-fuel combustion, post-capture purification, and carbon storage and utilization, with a total emission reduction of 50-55%.
Sui Tongbo said that the cement industry has a long way to go to achieve net zero emissions, and challenges and opportunities coexist.
