Project overview: Taiyanggou Pumped Storage Power Station is located in Wulatehou Banner, Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia. The lower reservoir dam site is 12 km away from Wulatehou Banner and about 60 km away from Bayannur City. The upper reservoir is located in the upstream of Taiyanggou in Bayinbaolige Town near the gully head. The reservoir area is mainly composed of two gullies in the east and west, and the dam is built at the intersection of the two gullies to form the reservoir. The dam site of the lower reservoir is located in the downstream of the dam ditch in the front of the middle section of Langshan Mountain in Yinshan Mountains, and the reservoir is formed by blocking the river with a few bends. Project Overview: Taiyanggou Pumped Storage Power Station is located in Wulate Rear Banner, Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia. The lower reservoir dam site is 12 km away from Wulate Rear Banner and about 60 km away from Bayannur City. The upper reservoir is located in the upstream of Taiyanggou in Bayinbaolige Town near the gully head. The reservoir area is mainly composed of two gullies in the east and west, and the dam is built at the intersection of the two gullies to form the reservoir. The dam site of the lower reservoir is located in the downstream of the dam ditch in the front of the middle section of Langshan Mountain in Yinshan Mountains, and the reservoir is formed by blocking the river with a few bends. The installed capacity of the power station is 1200 MW, and four vertical-shaft single-stage single-speed mixed-flow reversible pump-turbines with a single unit capacity of 300 MW are installed. The continuous full-load operation hours of the power station are 6 H, and the rated head is 391 m. The power supply scope of the power station is the Inner Mongolia power grid, and it also serves the new energy consumption; it undertakes the tasks of peak regulation, valley filling, energy storage, frequency modulation, phase modulation and emergency reserve of the power system.

Taiyanggou Pumped Storage Power Station is composed of upper reservoir, water conveyance system, underground powerhouse system, lower reservoir, water replenishment system and other buildings. The upper reservoir is located at Taiyanggou, the upper reservoir is partially impervious, and the dam is a concrete rockfill dam with a maximum height of 132 m; The lower reservoir adopts the dam ditch reservoir site, which is mainly composed of sediment dam, flood discharge and desilting tunnel, barrage and other structures. Both the sediment dam and the barrage adopt the RCC gravity dam type. The maximum height of the sediment dam is 52 m, and the maximum height of the barrage is 79 m. The lower reservoir adopts the vertical anti-seepage grouting curtain anti-seepage scheme. The normal water level of the upper reservoir is 1614 m, the dead water level is 1575 m, and the regulating storage capacity is 8.29 million m3. The normal water level of the lower reservoir is 1205 m, the dead water level is 1183 m, the regulating storage capacity is 8.95 million m3, the rated water level is 391 m, and the continuous full utilization hours are 6 H. The water supply mode of "one tunnel and two units" is adopted for the water diversion system and tailrace system. The water is supplied to four units in the form of straight access to the plant. The steel plate lined high-pressure pipeline is adopted. The single shaft arrangement is adopted on the facade, with the upper horizontal section, the shaft section and the lower horizontal section. The water inlet/outlet of the lower reservoir is arranged in the form of side water inlet/outlet, and the underground powerhouse system is arranged in the form of middle part, which is composed of the main engine room, the erection bay and the auxiliary powerhouse, arranged in the shape of "I", with the total excavation size of 175.2m × 26m × 56.3m (length × width × height). According to the Standard for Flood Control GB 50201-2014 and the Standard for Classification and Flood Control of Hydropower Projects NB/T11012-2022, the project is preliminarily determined as a first-class project with a large (1) scale. The main permanent structures (including upper reservoir backwater structure, water conveyance system structure, underground powerhouse, main transformer chamber, ground switch station, lower reservoir water retaining and discharge structure, etc.) are Grade 1structures, and the permanent secondary structures (including access tunnel, ventilation and safety tunnel, tail regulation access tunnel, upper reservoir drainage corridor, etc.) are Grade 3 structures. The side slope of the hydroproject area is Class A, the side slope of the permanent main buildings is Class I, and the side slope of the permanent secondary buildings is Class I.

Bidding contents: including but not limited to the construction and project management of Taiyanggou Pumped Storage Power Station; survey and design at the bidding design stage, survey and design at the construction detail design stage, and required scientific research tests; procurement, storage and transportation of equipment and materials; Auxiliary construction works, building works, environmental protection works and water and soil conservation works, mechanical and electrical equipment and installation works, metal structure equipment and installation works, etc.; equipment commissioning, unit startup and test run and performance test; stage acceptance, special acceptance, completion acceptance; standard production, project excellence, land acquisition and resettlement cooperation; quality assurance within the defect liability period, etc.

Planned construction period: the preparation period of the project is 24 months; the total construction period of the project is 69 months, including 6 months for project preparation, 54 months for main works, 9 months for project completion, and 60 months for the first unit. It is required to complete the excavation of the ventilation tunnel within 18 months from the effective date of the contract and start the excavation of the top arch of the main power house.
