2025, Sinoma successfully completed the civil foundation excavation of the Philippine HOLCIM-LN Alternative Fuel Upgrading EPC Project, marking that this green low-carbon project has formally entered the substantive construction stage. On February 25, the first batch of steel structures successfully arrived and unloaded, laying a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the project. As the pioneer plant of Holcim Group's "Net Zero Roadmap", the launch of this project is not only an important measure for the company to implement the "double carbon" strategy, but also a milestone event to promote the green and low-carbon transformation of the Philippine cement industry.
This project is located in the old plant area of Holcim La Union. The contract includes the alternative fuel storage shed and the building structure, process equipment and electrical configuration for the alternative fuel to be delivered to the preheater. The project adopts the EPC general contracting mode and is signed by the Philippine company. After the completion of the project, it will realize the upgrading and transformation of alternative fuels, reduce carbon emissions in the cement production process, improve environmental performance, optimize the energy structure, expand profit channels, help Holcim build the first "zero waste cement park" in the Philippines, and provide a demonstration for the green transformation of the local cement industry.
The project team overcame multiple challenges. The safety management in the old plant area is strict, and the duration of single construction is limited; the proportion of equipment transshipment is high, the production period is long, and the construction period on site is tight; the local temporary labor resources are scarce, which brings a lot of pressure to the project. However, with meticulous organization and planning and efficient resource allocation, the project team successfully completed key tasks such as civil foundation excavation and steel structure unloading on site, fully demonstrating the company's efficient and professional quality in overseas project execution.
At present, the Holcim La Union factory model has been listed as the "national green cement model" by the Philippine Ministry of Environment, and Philippine companies will continue to adhere to the concept of "green sailing, low carbon empowerment", strictly follow the construction plan, promote project construction with high standards and quality, ensure that the project is completed on schedule, and strive to achieve the goal of "green cement". Strive to achieve regional demonstration effect, create brand awareness, for the follow-up deep cultivation of green low-carbon areas in the Philippines, and contribute to the company's high-quality development.
