In May, the cement consumption in Shanghai was 1.62 million tons, down 18% year-on-year and 1% month-on-month; the cumulative cement consumption was 6.81 million tons, down 25% year-on-year. Affected by the holidays and rainwater in the first ten days, the demand for cement declined, the construction progress in the last ten days caught up, and the month-on-month ratio declined slightly in May. In terms of

brand concentration, the market share of the top three brands was 43.1%, down 8.4 points from the same period last year, up 1.2 points from last month.

In terms of source regions, the local and surrounding Yangtze River Delta accounted for 84.7%, a decrease of 2.5 points, 7.6% in Jiangxi, 5.8% in Hubei and 1.9% in Chongqing.

Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment issued the Notice on the Relevant Arrangements for the Prohibition of Construction Operations during the College Entrance Examination and the Senior High School Entrance Examination in 2025, which States that: 1.
