The comprehensive transportation network has a total mileage of more than 6 million kilometers, and has built the world's largest high-speed railway network, highway network, postal express network and world-class port group, with aviation and navigation reaching the whole world. According to
the Statistical Bulletin, by the end of 2023, the national railway business mileage was 159000 kilometers, of which the high-speed railway business mileage was 45000 kilometers. 3637 kilometers of new lines have been put into operation, including 2776 kilometers of high-speed railway. The double-track rate is 60.3%, and the electrification rate is 75.2%.
The national highway mileage was 5.4368 million kilometers, an increase of 82000 kilometers over the end of last year. The mileage of expressways was 183,600 km, an increase of 6,400 km, and the mileage of national expressways was 122,300 km, an increase of 2,400 km. There were 1,079,300 highway bridges and 95,288,200 linear meters
in China, an increase of 46,100 and 9,523,300 linear meters respectively over the end of the previous year. The navigable mileage of
inland waterways in China was 128200 kilometers, an increase of 184 kilometers over the end of last year. The number of production berths in China's ports was 22023, 700 more than at the end of the previous year. Among them, the number of production berths in inland ports was 16433, an increase of 551, and the number of production berths in coastal ports was 5590, an increase of 149. There are 259
certified civil air transport airports , an increase of 5 over the end of last year, including 259 airports for scheduled flights and 255 cities (or regions) for scheduled flights.
The comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network has accelerated its formation, the network structure of transportation infrastructure has been continuously optimized, and the rural transportation facilities have been continuously improved.
