On October 2, China Building Materials Group and Dangote Group formally signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement in Lagos, Nigeria. Zhou Yuxian, Chairman of
China Building Material Group, and Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Dangote Group, attended the signing ceremony and delivered speeches. Zhi Xiao, Assistant General Manager of China Building Materials Group and Chairman of China Building Materials Institute, and Olakunle Alake, Vice President of Dangote Group signed the agreement on behalf of both sides.
Looking back on the 16-year cooperation between the two sides, China Building Material Group and Dangote Group have signed more than 20 contracts with a total contract value of more than 5 billion US dollars, demonstrating the deep trust and solid relationship between the two sides in many fields.
On the basis of years of successful cooperation, the two sides decided to jointly participate in the infrastructure construction of Nigeria's National New Energy Free Trade Zone and promote the application and promotion of new energy technologies.
At the same time, the advanced technology of China National Building Material Group in the field of non-metallic materials and the local market resource advantages of Dangote Group will be fully integrated, and in-depth cooperation will be carried out in the fields of building materials production and new energy project development to jointly promote industrial modernization and sustainable economic development in Africa.
Zhou Yuxian said that Dangote Group has a wide range of industrial scenarios and deep market resources in Africa. China Building Materials Group has strong advantages in research and development, manufacturing, engineering and technical services, trade and logistics in the field of non-metallic materials. Through this strategic cooperation, the two sides will jointly promote the industrialization process in Nigeria and Africa.
Zhou Yuxian stressed that this strategic cooperation is not only the joint efforts of the two enterprises, but also an important manifestation of the implementation of the outcome of the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, aiming at deepening China-Africa cooperation in infrastructure construction and sustainable development and achieving mutual benefit and win-win results. It is hoped that the two sides will strengthen cooperation, promote the landing of more green building materials and new energy projects, and contribute to the construction of a high-level China-Nepal community of destiny.
