2024, China's cement industry encountered unprecedented challenges, known as the "winter once in 30 years". Under the realistic condition of declining demand, some enterprises lack strength and blindly implement radical market strategies, which leads to frequent price wars and damages the overall interests of the industry. Faced with the dual pressures of the market and the environment, the cement industry can only recast its brilliance in the next rising period of the industry by improving its resilience and crossing the cycle.
China Cement Network, as an industry platform, has long taken promoting the healthy and orderly development of the industry as its own responsibility, organized and launched OCC (Yangtze River Cement Enterprise Alliance), and took the lead in firing the first shot of "anti-inwinding anti-dumping" in the cement industry through OCC. On September 9, the "Yangtze River Basin Cement Anti-involution Forum" hosted by OCC was successfully held in Wuhu Conch, and all the cement enterprises along the Yangtze River attended the forum to discuss the new path for the healthy development of the industry.
This conference is the first anti-involution conference in the cement industry, which took the lead in putting forward the concept of "anti-involution, anti-dumping, compliance and peak staggering production", advocating the prevention of involution through orderly industry ecology, and promoting the industry to cope with the serious mismatch between supply and demand and the continuous downward demand by actively improving the supply-side structure.
The meeting also put forward three major proposals:
1. To rationally understand the market situation and jointly build the cornerstone for the healthy and orderly development of the industry;
2. To adjust the balance between production and sales;
3. To resolutely implement the on-demand production mechanism.
These initiatives are aimed at helping cement enterprises to regain confidence, overcome current difficulties and challenges, and explore new directions to achieve stable growth.
