Taiwan Cement Corporation announced the signing of a memorandum of cooperation on February 1, saying that it would cooperate with ThyssenKrupp Polysius of Germany to develop a new carbon sequestration technology.
Taiwan Cement said it will use the kiln of the Heping Power Plant in Hualien as a test site, and the project is expected to be completed in 2026. The company aims to develop a large-scale commercial core technology by 2030 to achieve carbon capture of 100000 tons per year.
