Cement industry has removed the cap of high pollution industry!

After years of efforts, a large number of garden-style factories and orchard-style factories have emerged in the cement industry. The proportion of cement industry in the list of "green factories" evaluated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology every year has been very high. The cement industry has been reborn as a whole, taking off the hat of traditional polluters, digesting a large number of industrial waste residues and becoming a society. It has become an important chain in the circular economy.

Cement industry has removed the cap of high pollution industry! The

traditional impression is that the cement industry has always been a highly polluting industry. You can see black smoke from the chimney outside the factory. The dust in the factory area is all over the sky. The workers wear masks to work. The workers are all dusty. So through data analysis, is the emission of pollutants in the cement industry still large? What is the real emission level of the cement industry at present? Below we summarize and analyze the data:

the main pollutants in the cement industry are particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and so on. At present, on-line analytical instruments have been installed at the kiln head and kiln tail of the national clinker production line, and networked with the local government environmental protection platform. According to the environmental statistics released by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the emissions of SO2 , NOx and PM in the cement industry in 2020 will be 136,000 tons, 722,000 tons and 838,000 tons respectively. Accounting for 5.4%, 17.3% and 20.9% of the national industrial emissions, accounting for 26.6%, 63.3% and 76.2% of the building materials industry emissions, it is the main industry of air pollutant emissions, and there is a lot of room for pollution reduction; Because the emissions of nitrogen oxides and sulfur are mainly from the production of clinker, the output of clinker in 2020 is 1.58 billion tons. The emissions of SO2 and NOx per ton of clinker are 0.0861 kg and 0.4570 kg respectively; Due to the emission of particulate matter in the whole process, based on the cement output of 2.377 billion tons in 2020, the emission per ton of cement is 0.3525 kg, indicating that the emission per ton of clinker and cement is relatively small, but the total output of clinker and cement is relatively large. Through the reports of listed companies of leading cement enterprises (annual reports, annual ESG reports, etc.),

we found out the new Tianshan Cement and Conch Cement in 2022. The pollutant emission data of Huaxin Cement and Jidong Cement were analyzed.

1. Through the analysis

of total emission and emission per ton of clinker, it can be seen that the emission per ton of clinker in the cement industry has been significantly reduced compared with the data in 2020. Thanks to the recent promotion of ultra-low emission in the cement industry, the three major pollutant indicators have been significantly reduced.

2. Through the analysis

of emission concentration, it can be seen from the above table that the annual average emission concentration of enterprises is much lower than the national standard value, especially the emission values of sulfur dioxide and particulate matter, which are lower than the ultra-low emission limits, because most of the layout of Conch Cement and Huaxin Cement enterprises is not within the scope of key environmental protection areas. Therefore, the transformation of ultra-low emission of nitrogen oxides is under way and has not yet been completed. With the continuous promotion of ultra-low emission, it is estimated that the average value of leading enterprises will be reduced to less than 50 mg in 25 years, and the pollutant emissions of the whole cement industry will be lower and lower.

As for the cement grinding link, it is mainly the emission from the main dust collection chimney of the cement mill. The listed company has not released specific data. According to the cement enterprise, if only the organized emission from the chimney of the cement mill is only 0.002 kg per ton of cement, it is 10 times lower than the particulate matter emission from the clinker process (the enterprise has reached 10 mg ultra-low emission).

The above data are all organized emission data. The unorganized emission of cement industry mainly refers to dust emission. In recent years, the unorganized emission has been greatly reduced through environmental protection control measures and equipment such as leakage, material sealing, sealing, washing machine, dry fog dust suppression, clean transportation and strengthening cleaning. At present, there is no clear statistical data.

Summary: After years of efforts, a large number of garden-style factories and orchard-style factories have emerged in the cement industry. The cement industry accounts for a high proportion in the list of "green factories" evaluated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology every year. The cement industry has been reborn as a whole, taking off the traditional big polluter hat and digesting a large number of industrial waste residues. It has become a purifier of the society and an important chain in the circular economy. I also hope that everyone can really go to the cement enterprises to have a look, publicize and understand the actual pollutant discharge situation of the cement industry at present, and understand the contribution made by the cement enterprises to environmental protection; It is also hoped that the leading companies in the cement industry will publish more information about their pollutant emissions, let the public know the actual emission data of the enterprises, eliminate misunderstandings and change the traditional image of the cement industry among the public.

Recently, due to the persistent cost pressure in the south, the price of concrete has risen slightly with the raw materials, but the growth of market demand is limited, and the overall quotation is still stable. From October 31 to November 6, the national concrete price index closed at 112.47 points, up 0.31% annually and down 10.11% year-on-year.
