According to

media reports, on the morning of May 20, the cargo ship "Guiping Wanhua 8689" berthed at the special wharf of Huarun Cement (Guigang) Co., Ltd., after loading 2149.88 tons of cement produced by the enterprise, went all the way east to Shenzhen, a city in the Dawan District of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

It is reported that in the past three years, 231 million tons of goods have been transported from Guigang Port to Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and other ports. Among them, the annual cement throughput is about 20 million tons.

"Guigang Port now has cargo ships carrying cement to Guangdong almost every day, and more than 5000 tons of cement are shipped to Hong Kong every month." Ye Delin, director of Guigang Port and Shipping Development Center, said.

According to Guigang Customs statistics, in 2023, Guigang exported 31000 tons of cement and cement clinker to Hong Kong, an increase of 336.9% over the same period in 2022, with a value of 11.077 million yuan, an increase of 404.7%; From January to April 2024, Guigang exported 40000 tons of cement and cement clinker to Hong Kong, an increase of 512% over the same period in 2023, with a value of 11.957 million yuan, an increase of 442.5%.

Guigang is a big cement clinker production city in Guangxi. According to the statistics of China Cement Network, by 2023, Guigang has 13 cement clinker production lines, with a total clinker production capacity of 17.205 million tons, ranking first in Guangxi prefecture-level cities.

Guigang cement clinker can be exported to Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, in addition to excellent quality, the more important thing is convenient transportation. It is reported that the transportation price of bulk carriers such as cement from Guigang is only 4 cents per kilometer, and the loading and unloading cost is only 2-3 yuan per ton.

Guigang Waterway is 630 kilometers away from Guangzhou Port, 740 kilometers away from Shenzhen Port, 700 kilometers away from Zhuhai Port and 754 kilometers away from Hong Kong Port, with a navigation capacity of 3000 tons.

According to 4 cents per kilometer, the freight of cement from Guigang to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Hong Kong is 25.2 yuan, 29.6 yuan, 28 yuan and 30.16 yuan respectively. Such transportation costs are even cheaper than the road freight for some enterprises in Guangdong's non-riverside areas to transport to the core market.

It is worth mentioning that not long ago, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region issued a circular on the issuance of several policies and measures to promote the steady growth of industrial economy in the second quarter of 2024.

It is proposed that the building materials industry should focus on helping cement enterprises to expand their markets and inventory, and strive to increase their output value by more than 2% year-on-year in the first half of the year. According to the scale and growth rate of new output value of enterprises in the second quarter, enterprises will be rewarded with no more than 1 million yuan for increasing production and efficiency. This will promote the export of cement in Guangxi.
