CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the second batch of the third round of seven central eco-environmental protection supervision teams were stationed in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing and Yunnan provinces (cities) from May 7 to 9, 2024, to Co ordinate river basin supervision and provincial supervision. Up to now, the inspection teams have entered the stage of sinking work in an all-round way.
In the stage of sinking work, according to the situation grasped by the inspectors in the previous stage and the clues focused on the problems, the inspection teams went deep into the grass-roots level, the front line and the scene to supervise the implementation of the ecological environment protection work of the prefectural and municipal Party committees and governments. The inspection teams have verified a number of prominent ecological and environmental problems, verified a number of formalistic and bureaucratic problems such as inaction, slow action, no responsibility, no hard work, and even perfunctory response and fraud. At present, seven typical cases have been publicly exposed.
Each inspection group coordinates economic development, people's livelihood security and ecological environment protection, adheres to the people-centered approach, continuously promotes the solution of outstanding ecological environment problems reflected by the masses, promptly transfers supervision, strengthens spot checks and verifications, conducts field visits and listens to the opinions of the masses face to face. In order to solve specific ecological and environmental problems and respond to social concerns, the actual results of the rectification should be trusted by the people, and the people's sense of ecological environment, happiness and security should be continuously enhanced.
Relevant provinces (municipalities) attach great importance to the work of supervision and rectification, and actively promote border supervision and reform. The main leading comrades of the Party Committee and the government have vigorously promoted the work of supervision and rectification by putting forward clear requirements, conducting on-site investigation and supervision, and holding special meetings to promote it. Through the joint efforts of both sides, a number of ecological environment problems around the masses have been solved, a number of problems of inadequate rectification and even pollution rebound have been investigated and dealt with, and a number of ecological environment violations have been corrected in time.
By 20:00 on the evening of May 20, the inspection teams had received calls and letters from the masses to report 12444 cases, accepted effective reports of 10683 cases, sorted out and merged repeated reports, and transferred 7562 cases to the supervised localities; 1522 cases had been completed or completed in stages by the supervised localities, of which 244 were placed on file for punishment; 13 cases were placed on file for investigation; 96 Party and government leading cadres were interviewed, and 5 Party and government leading cadres were held accountable.
