On May 18, the 2024 Annual Conference of the World Cement Association was held in Nanjing. Wei Rushan, Chairman of WCA, gave a keynote speech on "Industry Trend and Strategic Response".
Wei Rushan pointed out that opportunities and challenges coexist in the cement industry. The development trend of the cement industry is closely related to the economic trend. At present, the industry is facing the demand of technological innovation, management reform, transformation and upgrading.
Wei Rushan said that double carbon is both an opportunity and a challenge. In the process of implementing "double carbon", we should respect different social conditions and allow the cognitive differences of colleagues in different countries.
Wei Rushan pointed out that innovation is an eternal issue and opportunity. Innovation is the only way for the cement industry to achieve sustainable development. Openness and sharing are indispensable. Facing the new situation and new challenges, colleagues in the cement industry need consensus and communication.
