Myanmar's domestic cement industry is booming and can produce more than 8 million tons of cement a year, according to the Ministry of Industry's No.2 Large Industrial Company.
At present, there are 11 cement production plants in normal operation, which together produced 8.485 million tons of cement in fiscal year 2023-2024, making a significant contribution to the country's construction. The cement production layout in
Myanmar is quite complete, with a total of 19 state-owned and private cement plants. If these cement production plants can reach full capacity, Myanmar will be able to produce up to 16.23 million tons of cement in a year, which will greatly meet the growing domestic construction demand. Based on the data of 2019 and 2020, the
Ministry of Industry calculates that the annual demand for cement in Myanmar is about 9.9 million tons. The current cement output can basically meet the domestic demand, which shows the steady development trend of Myanmar's cement industry.
