Recently, six containers loaded with 192 tons of cement clinker were successfully loaded in Beiliudong freight yard of Wuzhou Freight Center in Guangxi. This is the first time that Beiliudong Business Department has handled container delivery operation since it started container business in December 2023, and it is also the first new project of "public transit railway" cargo transportation undertaken by the center in 2024.
This batch of cement clinker is produced by Beiliu Conch Cement Co., Ltd. According to China Cement Network, the company has two 5000t/d cement clinker production lines. Before that, the company's cement clinker was transported by road, mainly for processing and use in Zhanjiang, Maoming and other cement plants in Guangdong Province. This is the company's first attempt to ship cement clinker in 20-foot 35-ton open-top boxes by rail. On December 2,
2023, Beiliudong Business Department opened 20 feet, 40 feet and 45 feet containers to handle business. The center seized the favorable opportunity of container opening to carry out market research and learned that the annual demand for cement clinker of Zhanjiang Conch Cement Co., Ltd. was more than 500000 tons. In 2023, 150000 tons came from Beiliu Conch Cement Co., Ltd.
In view of the information obtained, the center immediately organized marketing personnel to carry out marketing visits to Beiliu Conch Cement Co., Ltd. to publicize the advantages of railway transportation in large quantities, sufficient capacity and stable safety performance to the company, and at the same time formulated a "one enterprise, one policy" transportation plan, and finally successfully reached a "public transit railway" freight transport agreement.
The railway has large traffic volume and all-weather transportation, which can meet the transportation demand of Beiliu Conch Cement Co., Ltd. in large quantities. It is reported that the demand for cement clinker from Beiliu Conch Cement Co., Ltd. to Zhanjiang this year is about 200,000 tons. Next, the company will transport about 10,000 tons of cement clinker by railway every month.
