The ThyssenKrupp Group has a history of more than 200 years." In 1971, it acquired Polysius (Polysius Group), one of the world's top three famous cement technology and equipment manufacturers. In 2006, the Group acquired Maerz, the world's leading Swiss brand in the lime industry, which greatly enhanced the Group's ability and level of serving high-end customers around the world. ThyssenKrup

p Burley Hughes Group (hereinafter referred to as "ThyssenKrupp Burley Hughes") has been adhering to the concept of "century-old ingenuity, zero-carbon peer", and is committed to building a green ecological system of the whole value chain of cement production. Through the latest research and development of innovative technologies such as energy saving and consumption reduction, low carbon and low nitrogen combustion, high efficiency cooling, low pressure loss preheater, automatic laboratory, digital maintenance services, pure oxygen combustion and maximum replacement of coal and fossil fuels, the company helps more customers around the world to achieve green manufacturing.

Among them, as an additional product of prepol precalciner, the prepol SC stepped external hanging furnace launched by ThyssenKrupp Berlehuis opens up a new dimension of fuel utilization, which can use hundreds of industrial, domestic and agricultural wastes with calorific value, greatly reducing production costs, and also reducing carbon dioxide emissions. It has great social and economic value. In November 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology took the lead in formulating the Implementation Plan of Carbon Peak in Building Materials Industry, which clearly put forward the task of accelerating the improvement of solid waste utilization level, while the prepol ® SC stepped external furnace supports the use of cement kilns for harmless co-disposal of waste, which is a green low-carbon technology to help achieve the above task requirements.

In order to protect its stepped external furnace technology, ThyssenKrupp Group has applied for relevant patents in many countries and regions such as China. In China, ThyssenKrupp Berlehughes owns valid patents related to the above stepped external hanging furnace: for example, in the technology of the stepped external hanging furnace of ThyssenKrupp, the furnace body is provided with an ignition fixed bed and an airflow sorting fixed bed in a stepped manner from top to bottom, and the sidewall of the furnace body at the bottom of each stage of airflow sorting fixed bed is provided with an airflow sorting nozzle. A gas pressure regulating valve is arranged in each gas flow sorting nozzle, and the intelligent control system regulates the blowing according to the working condition and ensures the stability of the flow field. In addition, ThyssenKrupp Group has also applied for registered trademarks such as "ThyssenKrupp" and "ThyssenKrupp" on related products and obtained registration. ThyssenKrupp Polysius also owns several registered trademarks such as the following "polysius".

At present, the above intellectual property rights have been licensed to ThyssenKrupp Engineering (China) Co., Ltd. The stepped external furnace was first introduced into China by ThyssenKrupp Burley Hughes in 2019. However, soon after, ThyssenKrupp Engineering Technology (China) Co., Ltd. found that similar stepped external furnace projects already existed in the Chinese market.

As mentioned above, ThyssenKrupp Engineering (China) Co., Ltd. has been licensed by ThyssenKrupp Group and ThyssenKrupp Polysius to implement the patents related to the stepped external furnace. Without permission, no other person shall manufacture, sell, offer to sell, use or import the stepped external furnace products using the relevant patented technology. At the same time, without permission, the use of registered trademarks of ThyssenKrupp Group or ThyssenKrupp Polysius on the same or similar goods is suspected of constituting trademark infringement. Those who know that they are infringing products and still sell infringing products also need to bear the legal liability of stopping infringement and compensating for losses.

Maerz has been focusing on the design, development and construction of lime kiln equipment and related technologies. Its complete technology of parallel flow regenerative lime kiln (also known as "double-chamber lime kiln") can achieve less pollutant emissions, extremely high thermal efficiency, lower power consumption and lower production costs. In November 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology led the formulation of the "Building Materials Industry Carbon Peak Implementation Plan", which clearly put forward that the double-chamber lime kiln is the first green low-carbon technology in the lime industry.

In order to further regulate the Chinese market and avoid unnecessary losses and potential legal risks caused by the use of imitation technology by domestic customers, the board of directors of Maerz has decided that from November 28, 2022, ThyssenKrupp Engineering Technology (China) Co., Ltd. will be fully responsible for all authorizations of Maerz Lime Kiln Technology in China.

In order to protect its double-chamber lime kiln technology, Maerz has applied for relevant invention patents in more than 70 countries and regions such as China, Europe and the United States. In China, Maerz has a number of valid patents related to lime kiln technology (see the attachment for Maerz Lime Kiln Technology Patents). The above patents have been licensed to ThyssenKrupp Engineering (China) Co., Ltd.

Without permission, no other person shall manufacture, sell, promise to sell, use or import products applying relevant patented technology. If it is found to be infringing, the relevant manufacturers, sellers and users shall bear legal liabilities such as stopping infringement and compensating for losses.

ThyssenKrupp Engineering Technology will continue to provide Chinese customers with the best cost-effective overall solutions based on the concept of "European technology, made in China and all-round services", create greater value for Chinese enterprises and even more customers around the world, and contribute to the realization of China's "double carbon" goal.
