Specifically, in October, the sales volume of bagged cement decreased by 5% year-on-year, the sales volume of bulk cement decreased by 0.8%; the purchase volume of cement by construction companies and contractors increased by 4.2%, and the purchase volume of cement by concrete mixing stations decreased by 8.1%. In terms of
provinces, sales fell by 12.6% in Cundinamarca, 11.1% in Santander, 4.9% in Atlántico, 0.7% in Antioquia, 3.3% in Bogota and 4.2% in Valle del Cauca. In terms of
production, in October, Colombia produced 1.181 million tons of cement, down 6.4% from 1.262 million tons in the same period last year.
It is understood that from January to October 2024, Colombia sold 10.092 million tons of cement, down 5.7% from 10.697 million tons in the same period last year. In particular, the sales volume of bagged cement decreased by 6.3%, the sales volume of bulk cement decreased by 4.3%, the purchase volume of retail cement decreased by 3%, the purchase volume of cement by construction companies and contractors decreased by 6.5%, and the purchase volume of cement by concrete mixing stations decreased by 7.1%. In terms of
output, from January to October, Colombia produced 11.157 million tons of cement, down 5.5% from 11.808 million tons in the same period in 2023.
