14, Guangzhou Penghui Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Qingdao North Bank Holding Group signed a cooperation agreement on the demonstration project of 5MW/10 MWh sodium-ion energy storage power station, which is located in the large data center of Qingdao North Bank Holding Co., Ltd. and realized the large-scale application of sodium-ion core in the northern energy storage power station for the first time. It marks that Penghui Energy Sodium Ion Core has been formally introduced into the market and entered the stage of large-scale commercial application, which is of symbolic significance to the industrialization of sodium electricity.

The 5MW/10 MWh sodium ion energy storage power station project is located in the big data center of Qingdao North Bank Holdings, which is the first integrated application of sodium ion batteries in the new energy storage and the new infrastructure of the big data center. This project will effectively improve the energy efficiency level of Qingdao North Bank Big Data Center, enable the construction of green data center, and support Qingdao's high-quality development driven by digitalization.
In the critical period of energy transformation, promoting the research and development of sodium-ion energy storage technology is of great driving significance to China's future energy structure reform. Compared with the regional distribution of lithium, sodium is abundant in China and its cost is lower. Sodium-ion compounds have strong accessibility, sodium-ion batteries have relatively stable electrochemical properties and safety, better safety, wider working temperature range, higher rate performance, and high adaptability to large storage scenarios.
