Li Yeqing Meets Officials of the US Department of Energy

On November 7, Li Yeqing, President of Huaxin Cement , met with Stephanie Duran, Director of the China Office of the U.S. Department of Energy, at the Wuhan Business Center, and the two sides exchanged views on the theme of green and low carbon.

Li Yeqing welcomed Du Caishi's visit and introduced Huaxin's business sector and scale, and the overall situation of promoting green and low-carbon transformation and development. He pointed out that Huaxin regards green and low carbon as the company's long-term development strategy, and continues to increase investment in pollution reduction, carbon reduction, energy saving and consumption reduction. In recent years, through independent technological innovation, Huaxin has developed a complete set of technologies and applications for efficient and ecological co-disposal of solid waste in cement kilns in line with China's national conditions, using a large number of refuse derived fuels in the production process, greatly reducing fossil energy consumption, and achieving remarkable results in energy saving, carbon reduction and consumption reduction. It is hoped that through exchanges and cooperation in the field of green carbon reduction, the two sides will jointly promote the development and application of low-carbon technologies.

Du Caishi said that Huaxin, as the leader of the transformation and upgrading of China's cement industry, has made many fruitful achievements in green carbon reduction. She introduced the work of the U.S. Department of Energy in energy policy formulation, energy efficiency improvement, industrial carbon reduction, and CCUS technology research and application. We hope to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Huaxin, lead the application of green low-carbon technology through demonstration projects, and promote green development in the field of building materials.
