It is understood that the incident originated from a video of dismantling the machine released by a German evaluation blogger. The blogger said that after dismantling the machine, it was found that a micro-inverter produced by Deye did not conform to the German grid-connected certification condition VDE4105.

The VDE4105 certification is a safety certification in Germany. This certification standard clearly requires that micro-inverters need to be equipped with two independent shutdown devices, that is, in the case of off-grid, it can also ensure rapid power outage. In other words, there must be at least one relay in a micro-inverter to meet the turn-off condition.

However, the blogger said that after dismantling the machine, no relay was found on the circuit board of Deye's micro-inverter. However, he inquired about the product's certification for VDE4105, which showed that the relay was "Hongfa, HF115F".

Deye responded that it was not installed and was ready to upgrade

free of charge. At present, Deye shares have not yet made a public reply to this incident. However, it is reported that on the evening of July 9, Deye shares held a small-scale exchange meeting to respond to market queries. In the exchange content obtained, Deye shares said that the company would not "cut corners" and reduce relays like online transmission.

"The company's R & D department has been actively optimizing the design scheme, upgrading products and improving the impact of built-in relays on product life." Relevant personnel of Deye said, "At present, the company's R & D department has put forward a solution for product upgrading, that is, adding an automatic disconnection device at the AC end of the micro-inverter, which will start when the power grid and equipment are abnormal, while achieving the same effect of the built-in relay, it is also convenient for after-sales maintenance."

The official said that the external solution will probably be certified within a month, after which it will be provided free of charge to German end customers who have installed German products. The company even plans to extend the warranty period of micro-inverter products with external solutions from 10 years to 15 years free of charge.

Deye said it sold 400,000 units of the product in Germany. The German market accounts for only 2% of the total sales of enterprises. The incident had little impact on the company, and the relevant German authorities did not punish it.
