Recently, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs of Pakistan announced that the port of Qasim will be upgraded to the "flagship springboard" for the export of national cement and clinker. In the last fiscal year, the export volume and price of cement and clinker in Pakistan increased simultaneously, and the growth rate of African and North American routes was obvious. This round of expansion will take Qasim Port as the core, finalize the short, flat and fast plan, and start construction of new berths, storage depots and repair yards by the end of 2025. It will also build a fast export channel with the association to reduce the detention time. Due to the decline in domestic demand, exports are the way out to digest production capacity. After landing, the project will enhance throughput capacity, consolidate market advantages and feed back the industrial chain.
