Recently, the Internet began to spread the news that Zhengzhou spent 3.4 billion yuan to "tile" the river. On July 10, Zhengzhou Urban and Rural Construction Bureau issued a circular on the information of the comprehensive regulation project of Jinshui River:

Jinshui River is an urban river running through the main urban area of Zhengzhou. The preliminary research work of Jinshui River Comprehensive Regulation Project started in June 2020, mainly to solve the problems of insufficient flood discharge and drainage capacity, obsolete service facilities, lack of river ecological function and service function of Jinshui River, which is a comprehensive project integrating flood discharge and drainage, ecological function restoration and waterfront service for people's lives.

. The project was approved on July 19, 2021, and the construction of the whole line was started in January 2023. The approved estimated investment of the project is 3.402 billion yuan, mainly including two parts: one is 2.533 billion yuan for comprehensive river regulation, with a total length of 22 kilometers. The construction contents include the improvement of flood control and drainage capacity of rivers, the relocation of main sewage pipes and the renovation of rainwater outlets, the connection of hydrophilic footpaths, the renovation and upgrading of water-blocking bridges, the construction of new pedestrian bridges, the improvement of convenient service facilities, the improvement of ecological landscape and river management services, etc. The construction cost of comprehensive river regulation is 2.033 billion yuan, and other costs are 500 million yuan (mainly for survey, design, supervision, evaluation, monitoring, pipeline relocation, project reserve funds, etc.). The bidding is carried out in the way of winning the bid at the lowest price, with the bid price of 1.385 billion yuan, of which the comprehensive regulation is 20.12 kilometers long, totaling 997 million yuan, equivalent to about 49.5 million yuan per kilometer; the flood regulation and flood diversion gate is 2.18 kilometers long, totaling 388 million yuan. The second is the reconstruction of 869 million yuan along the river road and railway-related nodes. The construction contents include the demolition and relocation of new roads along the river road, two underpass railway tunnels, two underpass railway sewage main pipes, one rainwater pumping station, two pedestrian overpasses and river widening of underpass railway sections. According to the relevant requirements, China Railway Zhengzhou Bureau Group Co., Ltd. is responsible for the construction.

The length of the river course with granite stones is about 10.8 kilometers, the area is about 26,800 square meters, and the total cost is about 6.5 million yuan, accounting for 0.2% of the total investment. The hanging stones are located outside the pedestrian walkway. At present, the main works in the river and the relocation of sewage pipelines have been completed, with flood discharge conditions, and the overall project is expected to be completed by the end of this year (except for railway nodes).

Engineering design and "dry hanging stone" situation

Jinshui River comprehensive regulation project design adopts public bidding method, inviting domestic first-class water conservancy project design companies to participate in the bidding, after strict evaluation, the East China Survey and Design Institute of China Power Construction Group finally won the bid. In the design, it is comprehensively considered that the comprehensive regulation of Jinshui River involves many aspects such as revetment, weir, sluice and silt removal. Based on the actual situation of dense road network on both sides of the river, numerous buildings near the river, and dense tall trees such as willows and Fatong trees, if directly excavated and widened, it will have a greater impact on the environment, so the H-shaped revetment pile retaining wall scheme is adopted. This scheme can make full use of the existing green vegetation on both sides of the river, effectively reduce the investment, and the structural safety can also meet the requirements of the code.

As the retaining wall of revetment pile is H-shaped prefabricated component, it is inevitable to have uneven and rough surface at the joint after completion, which has a certain degree of impact on flood discharge in flood season and a certain degree of safety risk to pedestrians in non-flood season. In addition, the exposed revetment pile or retaining wall has a poor appearance. According to the experience of similar projects in China, it is necessary to treat the surface. At present, the general treatment methods used in China mainly include stone hanging, stone wet pasting, concrete prefabricated plate hanging and so on. According to the calculation, in the unit area investment, the unit price of concrete precast plate hanging is too high, and the investment of stone hanging and wet pasting is equivalent, but the stone wet pasting is easy to fall off and affect safety. After technical and economic comparison, the stone hanging process is selected. In the specific construction, the stone used is granite, not marble, and the hanging construction technology of "hanging stone first, then grouting" is adopted, instead of the "dry hanging stone" construction technology used in the general building facade, which has good durability and safety. According to the calculation, if the Jinshui River encounters a flood with a return period of 100 years, its flood flow rate is 2-3 meters per second, and the granite facade can resist the scouring of the flow rate.

scene after the regulation of Dihu section. The picture shows the construction

of stone hanging and mortar pouring. After the completion of the comprehensive regulation project

of Jinshui River in other cities in China, the flood control is combined with the upstream Guojiazui Reservoir, flood regulation and flood diversion project. The flood control standard will be raised from 5-50 years to 100 years. At the same time, the supporting construction of post stations (including public toilets), node squares, children's activity venues, fitness venues, etc. Will improve the service function, enhance the living environment, and facilitate the leisure and recreation of citizens.

The picture shows that the comprehensive regulation of Jinshui River in Dihu section

concerns the vital interests of every Zhengzhou citizen. We welcome the supervision and suggestions from all walks of life and the broad masses of the people to work together to build a happy river belonging to all Zhengzhou citizens!
