According to foreign media reports, Heraeus (Heraeus Holding GmbH), a German family technology group, said on Monday that it was acquiring a stake in HoloSolis, a French company. The company plans to open a 5G W photovoltaic cell and panel factory in 2025. The new
700 million euro ( $741.8 million) facility will be located in Hambach, northern France, and will employ about 1,700 people. By the time it reaches full capacity in 2027, the plant will produce 10 million photovoltaic panels a year, enough to meet the energy needs of 1 million homes.
Among them, Heraeus produces silver metallization paste, which is an integral part of photovoltaic cells.
Heraus said it will supply Holosolis' cell production line with its silver pastes, which are applied to the front side of solar cells to achieve current conduction. It is reported that HoloSolis will cooperate with Fraunhofer ISE in Germany to develop the plant, which aims to produce 10 million TOPCon photovoltaic modules annually, equivalent to 8% of the total imports of solar modules in Europe in 2022.
Heraeus is headquartered in Hanau, Hesse, Germany, with revenue of 29.1 billion euros in 2022. The group operates in 40 countries in the fields of environment, electronics, health and industrial applications.
