of July 5, leading cadres and state functionaries of Fengkai County in 2023 attended the court hearing in Fengkai Court. More than 80 leading cadres and state functionaries from all towns, streets and units of the county attended the hearing.

This public hearing is a crime of illegal mining. The public prosecution accused five defendant, including Liang Mou, Wang Mou and Feng Mou, of violating the provisions of the Mineral Resources Law, illegally exploiting river sand in mining areas prohibited by the state without obtaining a license for river sand mining, resulting in the loss of mineral resources, serious damage to the ecological environment and damage to the public interest. The case was heard by a seven-member collegial panel headed by Yang Lingfeng, president of the Fengkai People's Court. Chen Xuankai, chief procurator of the Fengkai People's Procuratorate, appeared in court to support the public prosecution and filed an incidental civil public interest lawsuit. The case will be adjudicated at a later date. At the end of the

trial, the "two chiefs" of the court carried out court education and law popularization around the ecological hazards of the case, which achieved a good effect of "hearing one case and educating one piece".

The whole trial process was solemn, standardized and orderly, and the audience listened attentively and carefully to understand the whole process of the trial and debate.
