In order to strengthen the protection of marine ecological resources and effectively cut off the black industrial chain of sea sand, recently, Fujian Fuan Public Security Joint Fuan Marine Police Workstation, Marine and Fisheries Bureau and other departments launched a law enforcement action to crack down on the illegal mining of sea sand.
This joint law enforcement action, on the basis of clear work objectives and supervision responsibilities, focuses on cracking down on illegal sand mining and cleaning up and rectifying fishing "three nothingness" vessels, and carries out a pull-net inventory through sea cruise and boarding inspection. Focus on checking the documents of ships going to sea, whether there are illegal modifications, illegal sand mining (transportation) operations, whether to brush or install ship name plates according to regulations, etc. Publicize and popularize the hazards of illegal sea sand mining and common sense of safe operation at sea to ship owners and crew members in a timely manner, guide the broad masses of fishermen to consciously abide by laws and regulations, and answer the consultation of the masses in detail. At the same time, joint law enforcement officers go deep into coastal wharfs, collect sand-related sites, investigate the sources of sand and gravel, and eliminate illegal mining, trading and use of sea sand.
In this joint law enforcement, more than 15 vessels and more than 50 fishermen were inspected, 3 potential safety hazards were investigated, 3 on-site rectifications were made, and 2 illegal sand dredgers were seized.
Next, Fuan Public Security will strengthen its cooperation with marine and fishery, marine police and maritime departments, keep a close eye on key areas, key issues and maintain a high-pressure situation, so as to provide strong support for the high-quality development of marine economy and marine construction of ecological civilization.
Fuan Public Security reminds us that
illegal mining of sea sand will cause damage to marine hydrological dynamics, seawater quality, seabed geology and biological habitat, and affect the safety of marine ecological environment and the diversity of biological resources.
Especially, the illegal exploitation of sea sand along the coast will seriously change the original seabed structure, reduce water conservation, and cause ecological disasters such as coastal erosion and seawater backflow.
In addition, sea sand contains a certain amount of chlorine salt and sulfate, if the untreated qualified sea sand is directly used in construction projects, it will induce and promote the corrosion of steel bars, reduce the durability of concrete structures, and endanger the safety of people's lives and property.
