According to the information, after deliberation, Xiangxiang Branch of Xiangtan Ecological Environment Bureau intends to approve the Environmental Impact Report of the Construction Project of Battery Grade Lithium Carbonate Production Line Project (Phase I) with an Annual Output of 20000 Tons in the near future, and now the relevant information of the project EIA will be publicized for five working days. According to the draft information of the
project environmental impact assessment report, the production line project of battery grade lithium carbonate with an annual output of 20000 tons (Phase I) is constructed by Hunan Yuneng Recycling Technology Co., Ltd., which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hunan Yuneng (301358), and its business scope includes the manufacture of special electronic materials; Sales of electronic special materials; research and development of electronic special materials. Hunan Yuneng is a joint-stock company established in June 2016. The company's products are lithium iron phosphate and nickel-cobalt-manganese ternary materials, which are used as cathode materials for new energy batteries. The company's downstream customers are mainly domestic first-class new energy battery manufacturers such as Ningde Times and BYD. The products are mainly used in the manufacture of lithium-ion batteries such as power batteries and energy storage batteries, and ultimately in the fields of new energy vehicles and energy storage.
It is reported that in February 2023, Hunan Yuneng Special established Hunan Yuneng Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. to invest a 51487 of 98800 yuan to build an annual output of 20000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate production line project (Phase I) in Dajiang Road, Xintang Village, Dongjiao Township, Xiangtan City. The project will produce four by-products of battery-grade iron phosphate, anhydrous sodium sulfate, industrial salt and calcium hydrogen phosphate. According to the White Paper on the Development of China's Iron Phosphate and Lithium Iron Phosphate Materials Industry (2023), published
by EVTank, Ivey Institute of Economics and China Battery Industry Research Institute, Hunan Yuneng will continue to be the industry leader in 2021 in 2022. It still ranks first in the field of iron phosphate and lithium iron phosphate.
It is worth noting that lithium carbonate is the basic raw material for new energy batteries. In order to meet the manufacturing needs of new energy batteries, Hunan Yuneng Special established Hunan Yuneng Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. in February 2023. It is planned to invest 514.8798 million yuan to construct a production line project (Phase I) with an annual output of 20,000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate in Dajiang Road, Xintang Village, Dongjiao Township, Xiangxiang, Xiangtan City. The project will produce four by-products of battery-grade iron phosphate, anhydrous sodium sulfate, industrial salt and calcium hydrogen phosphate.
